01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

Set on the 2th floor of a building tucked off a Yotsuya side street, La Beautē offers an approachable take on yakuzen—botanical and herb-infused cuisine. While herbal cooking can carry a reputation for austere, light broths, the kitchen here grounds its cooking in sweet vegetables and deeply savory dashi stock, making it a warming choice when you want comforting depth.

Dual-Broth Yakuzen Hotpots and Distinctive Drinks

The evening centerpiece is the herbal hotpot, arranged in themed courses such as skin-care, detox, and anti-aging selections. Each arrives with 2 contrasting broths simmering side by side. Platters feature more than 12 varieties of vegetables alongside generous portions of meat and seafood, letting diners compare how ingredients pick up flavor across the two simmering liquids. The meal can conclude with soothing rice porridge or risotto, while herbal sangria, botanical liqueurs, wine, and beer give guests ample reason to linger over their glasses.

Lunchtime Soups and House-Made Ice Creams

Midday crowds gravitate toward the soup lunches, which pair a soup of the day with healthy grain rice and a fresh salad, or a half-and-half option that allows a taste of 2 different preparations. Packed with chunky ingredients, the soups make a hearty meal on their own, bolstered further by complimentary rice upsizing. After eating, a dessert of house-made seasonal ice cream—flavored with ingredients like Tartary buckwheat tea—alongside hot coffee rounds out a thoughtfully crafted meal from start to finish.
